Lien
Choreographer, Concept and Direction: Lewis Major
A quiet, powerful one-on-one performance that celebrates the beauty of human connection and the intimacy of shared presence.
On an otherwise empty stage, one dancer and one audience member meet for a singular ten-minute encounter—shaped by a tender exchange of words, movement, and mutual attention. No performance is ever the same. No one else will witness it. It is a fleeting, unrepeatable gift.
Inspired by the reflective ritual of the Jewish seder, Lien reimagines performance as a deeply personal, almost spiritual act—an antidote to isolation and a quiet reminder of the empathy and shared connection that holds us together. Infinitely flexible in its staging, Lien has been performed in wine cellars, caves, hotel rooms, forests, backyards, and on otherwise empty stages across the world.
